2017 - 2018 DCCW Resolutions
Adopted June 7, 2017
at the 72nd Annual DCCW Convention

WHEREAS, this year's theme is "Behold the Handmaid of the Lord;" thus

BE IT RESOLVED, that as Catholic women, we see God in all people and live each day with a new fervor and more selfless love, so that we grow stronger in faith.

WHEREAS, we are called to serve God's people; thus

BE IT RESOLVED, that the members of the Steubenville Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will strive to support the women of our diocese in their endeavors of service to church and community in keeping with the Gospel message.

WHEREAS, Mary gracefully accepted the call to be the Mother of Jesus; thus

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will continue to answer God's call to be women of faith, be models for motherhood, and actively support right to life activities and programs.

WHEREAS, the Immaculate Heart of Mary is patroness for the Diocese of Steubenville; thus

BE IT RESOLVED, that we will say "yes" to God's call to accept His Son, Jesus, as a part of our daily lives, both physically and spiritually as Mary did.

WHEREAS, Pope Francis teaches that "true faith means loving others to the extreme;" thus

BE IT RESOLVED, that all bishops, priests, seminarians, deacons, and all of God's faithful follow Saint Teresa of Calcutta's example in showing our love through action, compassion, and service to God's children throughout the world.

WHEREAS, that Most Reverend Jeffrey Monforton is Bishop of the Diocese of Steubenville; thus

BE IT RESOLVED, that we pray for Bishop Monforton as devoted women of the church and express our sincere gratitude to him for his tireless dedication, service, and guidance in our diocese.

WHEREAS, that the call from God for priests, brothers, and sisters be answered; thus

BE IT RESOLVED, that members of the Catholic Woman's Club of the Diocese of Steubenville will pray daily for our parish priests, our seminarians, and all religious, and for an increase in vocations.
