"We are facing an enormous and dramatic clash between good and evil, death and life, the "culture of death" and the "culture of life". We find ourselves not only "faced with" but necessarily "in the midst of" this conflict: we are all involved and we all share in it, with the inescapable responsibility of choosing to be unconditionally pro-life."

Pope Saint John Paul the Great
The Gospel of Life #28)

Pope Blessed John Paul II taught us that our faith in Christ must touch every dimension of our lives.  We are called to transform the world through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and build a "civilization of truth and love."

This is especially true for the lay faithful.  The Second Vatican Council called the laity " infuse a Christian spirit into the mentality, customs, laws, and structures of the community in which [they live]," and insisted that this is a "...duty and responsibility of the laity that it can never be performed properly by others" (Decree on the Apostolate of the Laity #13).

Our faith informs us in how we live our lives and the choices we make each and every day.  Our faith also urges us to bring the values of the Gospel into the lives of the men and women around us.
