Speaker Details

DYC Speaker for 2018
Taylor Schroll

Taylor is a Catholic husband, father to three precious babies, missionary, youth minister, worship leader, speaker, radio show host, and avid gamer.

Taylor is so passionate about sharing the Joy of the Gospel through his thoughts and actions, most precisely through speaking engagements and leading God’s people in worship! Taylor has been in ministry doing just that for seven years in a variety of roles as a campus minister, youth minister, worship leader and speaker. Nothing brings him more joy that seeing people fall deeper in love with Christ and giving their hearts to Him!

Taylor grew up in a Catholic home as a “son of the Church.” As a freshmen high school, he went to a Steubenville Youth Conference in Southern Louisiana. It was then and there that he decided to take all that he had learned intellectually about our Catholic faith and let it touch his heart.

“I gave my heart, mind and soul to God that day and have been committed to following Him ever since. No matter how many times I have slipped up since then, and believe me it was quite a lot (ask my mom or my wife), God has always been there to catch me, brush me off and push me forward.”

Taylor began in ministry during his time at the University of the Incarnate Word. He was in Campus Ministry there and helped co-found a new Catholic ministry called Breathe that is still thriving today. Taylor also had the great honor of joining a fantastic ministry in the San Antonio area called Tongues of Fire and led the worship team for a few years. In this ministry, Taylor had the great opportunity to lead worship for nights of praise, retreats, parish events and the yearly Youth Explosion conference with over 1250 teens!

Upon graduation Taylor married his college sweetheart, Samantha, and they moved to Ohio so Taylor could attend Franciscan University of Steubenville.

After a year, Taylor and his family moved to his hometown of Lake Jackson, Tx and He began working as the high school youth and young adult minister in his home parish of St. Michael’s. During this time Taylor also became the music director for St. Mary Star of the Sea in Freeport, Texas.

In the summer of 2015 Taylor and his family decided to move to Bryan, Tx to join ABLAZE Ministries as missionaries. Taylor’s role with ABLAZE is as a Director of Youth Ministries and Conference Team Coordinator.

Testimony
"I have worked with Taylor Schroll on a number of occasions.  He is an excellent musician, singer, evangelist and speaker.  He works very well with people, and is effective with youth, young adults and adults.  He is respectful, engaging, and has a joyful faith.  His teaching is solidly Catholic.  I recommend him and his ministry."
-Fr. Bob Hogan, BBD, Director of the Catholic Center for Charismatic Renewal, San Antonio; National speaker, educator, theologian, spiritual renewal.

"We were blessed to have Taylor join us for our annual Diocesan Youth Conference, where he ministered to hundreds of our youth. Taylor is a passionate, dynamic and engaging speaker who has an incredible ability to meet youth where they are; to connect with them in a genuine and heartfelt way, and to proclaim to them the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that moves the heart and inspires greater faith. Added to this, he is a gifted worship leader that carries with him the joy of the Gospel."
-Fred Shellabarger. Director of Evangelization, Catechesis & Family Life, Diocese of Sioux City
