The Diocese of Steubenville will continue its annual Lenten Men’s Day of Renewal, March 22, at St. Stephen Church, 1036 Belford St., Caldwell.
This conference will be the 14th Men’s Day since 2010. Doors open for registration and coffee at 9 a.m. The main program will begin with a welcome at 9:45 a.m., continuing through with the celebration of Mass at 4 p.m. to fulfill the Sunday obligation.
The theme of the conference is “The Eucharist and the Biblical Vision of Men.” The patron of the conference is St. Joseph.
Father Mark A. Moore (pastor of St. Paul and Christ the King University parishes, Athens; Holy Cross Parish, Glouster; and Sacred Heart Parish, Pomeroy), will preside over the Holy Hour, penance service, and Mass.
The featured speaker in the morning and afternoon sessions is Michael Gormley.
Being married and having four children, Gormley can identify with the problems and daily struggles facing the men who will be participating in the diocesan Men’s Day of Renewal, according to Paul R. Sebastian, a steering committee member.
The men are encouraged to bring their sons and friends (18 and under are free of charge). A bag lunch will be provided.
Although the men may register at the door, preferable for planning purposes is to register by mail with Brett Martz, 75 Stewart St., Athens, OH 45701 or by email at [email protected]. Fill out the registration form in the brochure in your parish and send a $25 check (payable to the Diocese of Steubenville to the address indicated).
More information may be obtained from the chairperson of the steering committee, Don Coen, at (740) 264-0155, (740) 632-1565, or [email protected]. For convenience, the men may also register online at https://athenscatholic.org/steubenville-mens-day with an additional $3 surcharge.
Parish representatives are urgently needed to mobilize the men; they can inform Coen of their availability. Ads in the program and donations may be mailed to Martz; telephone (330) 354-8028.
